Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Rishabhdev, a co-educational English Medium Secondary School, situated at the holy place of Lord Rishabhdev, a beautiful place surrounded by hillocks, was started in the year 1993. It runs in conformity with the ideals of Indian culture. Special emphasis is laid on character building and growth of integrated leadership quality amongst the youngsters. The school seeks excellence in the sacred field of learning and fulfills a long felt need in this rural area to provide modern education to children with effective emphasis on the eternal traditions of ethics and morality. An appropriate environment for this purpose is ensured in the school campus with the team of specially selected and highly motivated staff. Their constant proximity with the students makes close interaction and absorption of ideas between the Guru and Shishya possible on all matters relevant to life and living in the community.

The school is progressing leaps and bounds adding one class every year. The first mile-stone was reached in the year 2001 when the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi recognized the school through affiliation allowing the students of the Vidyalaya to appear at the All India Secondary School Examination and the first batch appeared at the said examination in March, 2003. The results of Class X at the CBSE examinations have been cent percent throughout since the school sent the first batch in 2003. In order to develop traits of leadership, the school provides opportunities of growth through healthy competition. For this purpose, the entire school population is divided into four houses i.e. Bhardwaj House, Vashishtha House, Vishwamitra House and Gautam House. Besides, celebration of National days and Jayantees of great persons, the school organizes various competitions like Song, English, & Hindi writing, English & Hindi poem recitation, Story telling & Story writing, Mono Acting, Fancy Dress, Drawing & Poster and Extempore English speech.

In order to create interactional opportunities with the students and teachers of other schools, the school organizes Inter school Hindi Debate competition and this year our team won the Running Shield. Healthy body is an important requirement for effective learning. With this view in mind, the school has a composite regular programme for games and sports and physical training. All these are organized on individual and inter house basis to make the body strong and develop a spirit of healthy competition.

The school emphases on inculcation of values based on our cultural and traditional heritage. For this, the teachers of this school are role models and they speak to the students from the platform of 'Guruwani' to highlight the desired goodness. The Parents-Teachers’ Association is effectively working for the growth and development of students. The school is having a well equipped Laboratory, library and well established computer lab for imparting quality education to its students.The school is also having an English speaking atmosphere. Students from V onwards and teachers talk in English during school hours. Younger children are also prompted to talk in English.

All the programmes - academic or co-curricular, aim at developing moral values amongst our students. Every week one teacher by rotation addresses the morning assembly with some story leading to helping inculcation of basic values. Time and again students are reminded of our proud cultural heritage to grow an Indian in the true spirit. The school has been upgraded to plus two stage from the academic session 2007-08. Fist batch appeared at the All India Senior School Certificate Examination in March, 2009. Out of 19 students who appeared at this examination no one failed.
